Definition
In kink and BDSM, chastity refers to an agreed restriction around sexual activity or access. For some adults it is a short-term rule; for others it is part of a longer power-exchange arrangement.
Chastity is not a single practice. People may use the term to describe agreed rules, anticipation, a control-and-trust dynamic, or the use of a physical device. Not everyone interested in chastity uses equipment, and the term is not interchangeable with orgasm denial.
As with any power dynamic, participation should be voluntary, specific and reversible. Partners can agree on limits, duration, ways to check in and how to stop. Physical devices can create health and injury risks, so this page does not provide instructions for prolonged wear or treating pain as normal.
